Hamid Rabb M.D. grew up in Montreal, Canada where he completed high school, college and medical degree at McGill University. He subsequently completed residency in medicine at the UCLA school of medicine, and fellowship in nephrology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard University. He also trained in molecular and cellular immunology at Harvard. Dr. Rabb has been Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota and currently Professor and Medical Director of Kidney Transplant at Johns Hopkins. He served as Vice Chairman, Dept of Medicine at Johns Hopkins for 6 years.
Dr. Rabb has an active domestic and international medical practice. In addition, he has published over 250 papers including in NEJM, Lancet, JAMA, Cell and J Clin Invest. He has been inducted into the prestigious American Society of Clinical Investigation and American Association of Physicans, and has received numerous academic awards from the US, Canada, UAE, Bangladesh and India. Many trainees of his trainees are now in leadership positions, and he currently serves as the Nephrology Associate Editor for the J Clinical Investigation.
